Mad as a Marine Biologist

Hi! I am currently about to graduate with a BSc in Marine Biology. I am looking to gain some marine biology experience volunteering in a different country, as I have never had a gap year and never gained any experience of marine biology outside of the UK, but on doing some research I have found that most of the well known companies that take volunteers, like Wallacea, ask for a ridiculously large sum of money to volunteer with them. I was wondering if you might know any companies which take volunteers or organise gap year type projects that are not ridiculously expensive, or if you know anybody that does? Would appreciate it :)

Also, love your blog! :)

You can try looking at this website and I’ll message you my boss’ email address…my work takes work experience/ gap year students though it’s not heavily research based. I don’t make details of my job public because this blog represents my personal opinions, not my work, though most of the time they overlap, it’s not very professional!

[Edit: I can’t find your ‘ask’ box, so email me at madasamarinebiologist@gmail.com and I’ll send you more details!]
