“Tasmanian Wolf” or “Tasmanian Tiger”? It looked like a dog, but had a cat-like coat and a kangaroo pouch. The mind-boggling marsupial, the Thylacine was hunted into extinction in Australia. The last known wild specimen was shot in 1930. Decades later, the object of its taxonomy has been solved. It is more cat than dog.
